Enjy's Song, by R.

(To the tune of "Kathy's Song", By Simon and Garfunkel)

I hear the shouthing of your name,
Through the flood of wine that rolls
Down my throat; warm and comforting,
Raises the roof, burns down the walls

From the shadow of my mind,
Through the café, through bloodshot eyes
I gaze across the blood-flushed cheeks,
To Enjolras, where my heart lies...

My mind's enchanted and amused;
My thought's dwell near then fly away-
They die with you, slumped at your feet,
They rise with you another day.

And the speech you're making goes half-unheard
I don't know why I spend my time,
Lis'tning to songs I can't believe
Your fire fizzles in my wine.

But after all, you gnaw at my doubt
That none of these fine fires are true--
I lie alone without beliefs,
The only truth I know is you.

And as I watch the People cry
To follow you though they shall die,
Know you I won't turn away:
So, but for the grace of you, will I.
